adv_firm_profile

This page runs adv_firm_profile. Type a firm CRD number. A match opens that firm record.

Run adv_firm_profile

Agents call this name on the Pipeworx SEC ADV server.

What the agent sent

{
  "tool": "adv_firm_profile",
  "query": "106288"
}

Type the name or the CRD in the box. Do not type adv_firm_profile into the box. That string is the tool. The box is the argument.

A result opens a firm page or an adviser page.

How to use adv_firm_profile

adv_firm_profile opens one investment-adviser firm by CRD. It is the second call, after adv_search_firm has already returned a number. The box takes that firm CRD. A match opens the firm page.

Type this

  1. Copy the firm CRD from the name-search result or from a firm page. The example is 106288.
  2. Paste the digits. Words around the number are fine. The page keeps the digits.
  3. Press Look up. A hit is one firm. Open it.
  4. On the firm page, read the legal name, the CRD, the offices, and the Form ADV answers.
  5. Confirm the same number at https://adviserinfo.sec.gov/firm/summary/ plus the CRD.

The match is exact. 106288 does not return 1062880. An SEC number that looks like 801-##### is not this field. If you only have the 801 number, go back to adv_search_firm and search the firm name.

Read the result

The link is the firm record we store for that CRD. Use it to see the filing fields on this site. It is the payload adv_firm_profile is supposed to return: identity, registration identifiers, and the path into the Form ADV detail.

No row means that CRD is not a firm in this directory. Check that you did not paste a person CRD. Person numbers go to GetIAPDIndividualDetail. Then search the firm by name.
