GetIAPDFirmDetail

This page runs GetIAPDFirmDetail. Type a firm CRD number. A match opens that firm record.

Run GetIAPDFirmDetail

Agents call this name on the Fintel Discovery server.

What the agent sent

{
  "tool": "GetIAPDFirmDetail",
  "query": "149777"
}

Type the name or the CRD in the box. Do not type GetIAPDFirmDetail into the box. That string is the tool. The box is the argument.

A result opens a firm page or an adviser page.

How to use GetIAPDFirmDetail

GetIAPDFirmDetail loads one RIA firm after you know the firm CRD. Fintel documents it as the call that follows SearchIAPDFirm. The box takes the firm CRD. The result is the firm page for that number. adv_firm_profile is the Pipeworx name for the same open.

Type this

  1. Get the firm CRD from SearchIAPDFirm or from adv_search_firm. The example is 149777.
  2. Type the digits. Extra letters are ignored.
  3. Press Look up and open the firm.
  4. Read the Form ADV fields on the firm page. The Form ADV field guide explains the lines.
  5. Open https://adviserinfo.sec.gov/firm/summary/ plus the same CRD and compare the name.

One CRD, one firm. If the name on the page is not the firm in the question, you have the wrong number. Return to the name search. Do not edit the CRD by a digit to "see who else is nearby."

Read the result

The page shows the firm we store for that CRD: the name, the identifier, offices, and the filing answers we publish. Client counts, custody narrative, and brochure text that live only inside the PDF still need the brochure linked from the filing. Use the firm page as the index, then the SEC PDF when the question needs the brochure wording.
