As an Ameriprise advisor, I am an independent contractor. Years back, when I went out to set up a separate Ameriprise brokerage account to run all business expenses through, we were told that we had to have a separate tax ID to set up a business account to create this type of account. Just recently were we questioned by CSU on why this had not been reported as an OBA. Through my RP we explained that Ameriprise instructed us to have the separate tax ID for the account and that the account is only used for business and office expenses in support of my financial planning practice. I transfer funds throughout the month into the account from personal funds to cover needed expenses. The results of the case is that there is no issue here, but was relayed last week that I should report it on my OBA with the original date. Again, this tax ID and account are only for the purpose of the Ameriprise brokerage account for purposes of funding business expenses related to my Ameriprise Financial financial planning practice.; 1500 Urban Center Drive, Suite 415, Birmingham , AL, 35242; Not Investment-Related; 07/01/2016; 1 to 9 hours per month; 1 to 9 during trading hours.
