"LINCOLN CENTERN FOR THE PERFORMING ARTS, INC. / 70 LINCOLN CENTER PLAZA NEW YORK,NEW YORL 10023 / United States / Company/ Charity / PERFORMING ARTS / Member of a committee representing the interests of any third party / Updated Steering Committee Guidelines As the Young Patrons becomes an even bigger priority for the organization and our new leadership, we've updated and formalized our Steering Committee guidelines to best support the group as it evolves. Important changes for the upcoming year include: * Fundraising - Lincoln Center expects Steering Committee members to commit to an annual contribution of at least $5,000, which may be achieved in one or more of the following ways: * Membership dues at the Benefactor ($1,500) or Founding Fund ($5,000) levels * Annual gala ticket sales * Corporate matching gifts * In-kind support * Member recruitment and/or upgrades If this presents financial hardship, please discuss with leadership to come to an agreement on a case by case basis. * Attendance and Participation - Steering Committee members are required to attend at least two meetings per year; attend at least six Young Patrons events per year; and volunteer for Lincoln Center programs at least once per year. These requirements are in place to ensure leadership visibility at meetings and events, and for you to experience the impact of your contribution first-hand and have the ability to speak credibly about your leadership role. Task Force Updates We have streamlined our Task Force (formerly subcommittee) efforts to meet the growing needs of Lincoln Center and the Young Patrons. Steering Committee members may serve on one task force per year. * Combined Artistic Planning and Education/Community Engagement task forces that will focus on all Young Patrons activities, from Performance Outings and 101 Series Events to volunteer opportunities and program-specific fundraisers. * Task forces are optional; however, if you elect to join one, we do ask that you participate consistently. Admission Updates The Steering Committee is becoming increasingly popular, and we aim to actively encourage broad participation and engagement while holding the group to the highest standard. With that said, here are the changes we're making to the nominating and governance process: * Admission periods to the Steering Committee will occur on a biannual schedule (September and January), and new Young Patrons must demonstrate enthusiastic engagement in group activities for at least 6 months prior to applying to the Steering Committee. * Existing committee members will be asked to evaluate applicants, and these prospects will be asked to make themselves known to Steering Committee members as part of the review process. * Staff will review Steering Committee applications and recommend applicants to the Steering Committee for approval. Candidates that are nominated by an LCPA Board member or member of the Executive Leadership Team are exempt from this process. * There will be a cap of 50 members on the main Steering Committee. When spots are unavailable, interested Steering Committee applicants will be given the opportunity to join a Task Force, as space allows. / Start Date 7/1/2019 /
