Hispanic Brotherhood Inc. / 59 Clinton Avenue Rockville Centre, New York 11570 / United States / Other / http://hispanicbrotherhood.net/ / Cultural Establishment / The Hispanic Brotherhood was founded in 1984 with a mission to help the Hispanic residents of Nassau County with the resources, information, and assistance they need to successfully assimilate into the American culture and to see their American dream become a reality for their children. We are located in Rockville Centre and primarily serve the Hispanic Community on the south shore of Nassau County, including Rockville Centre, Lynbrook, Baldwin, Oceanside, Long Beach, Island Park and Freeport. The agency, however, serves any resident of Nassau County when a specific need or service is involved. According to the 2010 Census, Nassau County has a population of 1,339,532. Of that population, the Hispanic population of the County is reported at 14.6% or approximately 200,000. Although many efforts were made in the 2010 Census to secure more accurate figures on minority populations, it remains true that Hispanics historically have been undercounted in the United States census. In 1988, our agency started an "After School Tutorial Program" as well as housing counseling, resettlement services and a "Senior Citizen Nutrition Program" where seniors are provided a hot lunch three days a week at our center. / Member of Board of directors / Advancing the mission of the organization / The Hispanic Brotherhood was founded in 1984 with a mission to help the Hispanic residents of Nassau County with the resources, information, and assistance they need to successfully assimilate into the American culture and to see their American dream become a reality for their children.
