OPAL Advisory is a subsidiary of OPAL Investments, which in turn is 100% owned by Opportunity Alabama, a 501(c)(3) dedicated to economic development in Alabama's low-income communities. I serve as the Founder and CEO of both Opportunity Alabama and OPAL Investments, but I am not compensated in either role. Instead, I have been retained (via a single-member consulting LLC I own called Opportunity Specialists LLC) by a third party to provide support to both organizations - and, now, OPAL Advisory. Much of the project identification, scaling, and development work we do within OPAL Investments now will be shifted to OPAL Advisory, but I will continue to help educate communities and develop community marketing materials / track community impact within Opportunity Zones through Opportunity Alabama.
