07/01/2014-Charlotte Firefighter's Retirement System www.charlottefireretire.com I serve as a public fund Trustee for the Charlotte Firefighters' Retirement System. I joined the Board in July 2014 and serve as Vice Chair of the Board and Chair of the Investment Committee. I volunteer my time to serve in this position and I receive no compensation for my service. To fulfill my fiduciary duty, I would not be allowed to solicit any business with the Charlotte Firefighters' Retirement System on behalf of Allspring. My responsibilities as Chair of the Investment Committee include the following: ? Oversee the Retirement System's investment program, ensuring compliance with the Investment Policy, including approval of Fund transactions. ? Monitor the System's funding program. Identify key risk areas and devise methods or metrics for monitoring associated experience development. ? Recommend strategies as required to respond to an over- or under-funded conditions or threats to the System's financial soundness. ? Review and recommend changes to the Investment Policy, actuarial assumptions (both economic and demographic), and special studies (asset-liability study, actuarial experience study). ? Conduct investment manager searches, as needed. Review all investment-related fees incurred by the System. ? Monitor performance of the individual investment managers in accordance with the Investment Policy. Evaluate the performance of the Fund quarterly based on return comparisons of relative and absolute return objectives. From a time commitment standpoint, the Investment Committee meets on the third Thursday of every month from 8am-10am. The Board meets on the fourth Thursday of the month following each quarter from 8am-10am. My Allspring work duties and commitments would take priority over any of my outside Board activity. Aprox 8 hours per quarter spent on these duties.
